By demonstrating this action Teagan is following in my footsteps by imitating what I do around the house. This is cognitive development as she is relating her toys to real life and simulating real life with her toys. 

It's important to explain a change such as this to a child so they can understand what's happening. It is also important that you talk to your child to ensure that the child is being treated properly at daycare. 

She's putting words together to make sentences that form some way in which to communicate with others about what she is thinking. Her cognitive development has greatly improved since she was younger.
